Hardware for Switchboards

A switchboard is an electrical device that allows the division of currents into smaller currents for further distribution. It contains several switches to control, connect and combine circuits. Quality hardware for switchboards is required to protect the electrical components inside. Both weather protection and security are paramount when building switchboards.

Due to security concerns most switchboards use swing handles as their main lock. Swing handles are vandal resistant and come in both key lockable and Padlockable depending on preference. Swing handles are also IP65 rated for protection against the elements.

Quarter turn locks are commonly used on switchboards because of their robust and discreet design. Quarter turn locks are easy to operate making them ideal for switch cabinets, metal lockers and machine doors. If security is a high priority swing handles are the better locking option.

We also stock a range of foam tape for switchboards. Foam tape is a black medium density, high performance rubber perfect for creating weather seals. Foam tape is used around the perimeter of switchboard cabinets, sometimes accompanied by pinchweld, to protect the electrical components within from the weather.

What fantastic service provided this morning to replace struts in my motorhome. The guys are simply the best. Went to so much trouble to ensure they installed the right struts and then took time to show me how best to use them. Fast worker and such a reasonable charge. AND THEN one of them helped me back out. Service above and beyond doesn’t get any better. Thank you guys for a job well done. Very very happy with what you have done.
